BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (Ticker) -- Indiana center George Leach, who led the Big Ten Conference in blocks last season, will be sidelined indefinitely due to a knee injury, the school announced Monday.
Leach suffered the injury with nine minutes left in the second half of Indiana's 80-77 overtime victory over Xavier on Saturday. Attempting to block a shot, Leach landed awkwardly on his left knee.
The 6-11 center underwent an MRI on Saturday night and the Hoosiers' medical staff determined that he will be out indefinitely.
Leach recorded 79 blocks last season and recently moved into fifth place on Indiana's all-time list with 155. He started each of the first three games this season, averaging 8.0 points.
