Charlie Bell is perhaps the least heralded of Michigan State's famed "Flintsones" trio who all hail from the same hometown. Most of the attention goes to Mateen Cleaves, the play-making point guard, or Morris Peterson, the high-flying forward, but Bell has been a steady combo guard all season for the Final Four-bound Spartans.
All three average double figures for Michigan State, but Bell's contributions have come in virtually all categories.
The third-team All-Big Ten selection often draws the opponent's top-scoring guard as his defensive assignment. At 6-foot-3, Bell is a solid rebounding guard, averaging 4.7 boards per game. Bell can score some too. He averages 11.8 points per game, third on the team behind Peterson's 16.6, and Cleaves' 11.9.
A junior, Bell scored his 1,000th career point in the Spartans' Sweet 16 win against Syracuse.
