DURHAM, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Peppi Browne collected 19 points and eight rebounds as 25th-ranked Duke pulled away for a 68-59 victory over Vanderbilt in its home opener. Georgia Schweitzer added 15 points and Lauren Rice had 12, seven rebounds and four assists for the Blue Devils (2-1), who split the final two games in the Preseason Women's NIT. Neither team shot well in the first half as Duke opened a 27-24 lead. But the Blue Devils turned it up after halftime, shooting just under 62 percent to hand Vanderbilt (1-2) its second straight loss. Duke also connected on 8-of-12 3-pointers and outscored the Commodores from the foul line, 16-6. Zuzana Klimesova scored 14 points and Chantelle Anderson and Julie de Groot had 13 apiece for Vanderbilt.
