DURHAM, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Georgia Schweitzer scored 18 points to lead 25th-ranked Duke to a 63-49 upset of No. 8 Penn State and its eighth straight Duke Women's Basketball Classic. Schweitzer connected on 5-of-13 shots from the floor and 6-of-7 from the line for the Blue Devils (4-1), who have won this tournament every year since 1992. Duke, leading 42-34 midway through the second half, used a 15-6 run over the next five minutes to take its biggest lead, 57-40, with 3:27 remaining. Sheana Mosch scored 14 points and Peppi Brown and Lauren Rice added 10 apiece for Duke, which advanced to the championship game with a 93-38 drubbing of Florida A&M on Saturday. Though the Blue Devils shot only 38 percent (23-of-61) from the floor, the Lady Lions (3-1) had even more problems finding the basket, converting only 27 percent (18-of-66) of their field goals. Andrea Garner led Penn State in scoring with 12 points. Maren Walseth added 10 points for the Lady Lions, but was held without a point in the second half. Lisa Shepherd misfired on all 12 of her shot attempts for Penn State, which lost its first game after opening the season with three straight wins.
