CLEVELAND (Ticker) -- Tamika Catchings scored 22 seconds into the game and fourth-ranked Tennessee never looked back, turning its showcase game at Gund Arena against No. 8 North Carolina State into an 83-63 blowout.

Catchings' bucket gave the Lady Vols (15-3) the lead for good and she led a balanced attack with 14 points and seven rebounds. Semeka Randall and freshman April McDivitt each added 13 points, while Kristen Clement had 12 and freshman Kara Lawson 10 for Tennessee, which has won two straight since a 27-point loss at Georgia.

Freshman Kaayla Chones paced North Carolina State (15-4) with 18 points and Summer Erb had 13 and nine rebounds as the Wolfpack lost for the fourth time in five games since a 13-0 start.

Tennessee jumped to a 23-6 lead before nine minutes had elapsed and scored the final six points of the first half to build a 39-18 advantage by the intermission. Catchings had 11 points in the opening half and Clement had 10, while N.C. State shot just 28 percent (8-of-29) from the floor.

Tynesha Lewis hit a 3-pointer 28 seconds into the second half to cut the deficit to 18, but the Wolfpack got no closer. McDivitt's 3-pointer with 10:45 remaining pushed the lead to a game-high 66-34. The Lady Vols matched the 32-point cushion twice thereafter.
