PASSING Bird is considered the best passing forward of all time. Whether on long touchdown passes, simple entry passes, spectacular behind-the-back or over-the-shoulder passes, Bird found a way to get the ball there—sometimes even through a defender's legs. He finished his career with 5,695 regular-season assists, an average of 6.3 per game.
