Now that the sun has set on the Bulls' empire, the Western Conference is the land of plenty in the NBA. In winning the 1999 title, the Spurs signaled a geographic shift; now the East is least.

The Heat might pose a threat, but will ultimately be tripped up by Alonzo Mourning's big contract. The Knicks' chemistry is too combustible. The Pacers are showing their age.
