Trev's mailbag Martin's good, but don't count out FSU's Outzen

TEMPE, Ariz. (CNN/SI) -- CNNSI.com asked users to pick the brain of CNN/SI college football analyst Trev Alberts for insight into the Fiesta Bowl. Here are Alberts' responses to selected questions:
Q: Which QB do you think is the most capable and which one is most likely to lead his team to victory in the Fiesta Bowl -- Martin or Outzen?
Also, given the overall superiority of both defenses, do
you also see this as a low-scoring game? Alberts: Well, the more capable, at least you'd have to say on the surface, is Tee Martin. But I think that Marcus Outzen has his plays. He certainly gives you some things that Chris Weinke didn't. I mean, with Weinke, you knew exactly where he'd be: Five steps to seven steps back in the pocket. With Outzen, you better be in your lanes or he's going to take off.
Q: With the trouncing of BYU at the hands of Tulane, does this show that
maybe the BCS may have goofed by not letting Air Force or Tulane in?
Tulane goes undefeated without a chance at being in a championship game. Why do they even play if there is no chance? Alberts: I totally agree. The way this system is set up is horrible. That's why I really hoped Ohio State would blow out Texas A&M, like 56-3, and Florida State would beat Tennessee, 17-14. Then you'd get a split champion and people would say, "Wait a minute. This BCS doesn't work." That's especially true in amateur athletics. How can you tell a team, hey, no one has beaten you but you don't even get a chance to play for the national championship? It's just not right. Q: I congratulate both teams for earning a spot in the Fiesta Bowl. However, do either of these teams honestly think they could beat Ohio State? I think both would be extremely overmatched.-- Sarah Arnal, Toledo, Ohio Alberts : I'm sure you're not exactly objective, Sarah. But I think the best game for the national championship would have been Florida State and Ohio State. But it's Ohio State's fault. I mean, when they were in the Sugar Bowl, why did it seem like they were lackadaisical? Ohio State looks like it gets bored. I question their discipline sometimes.
Q: How can the No. 1 team in the nation be an underdog after beating 6
Top 25 teams? Alberts : I was on the No. 1 team in the nation at Nebraska, and an underdog, too, to Florida State. It's just people's opinions. I will say this: It's the best thing that has happened to the Tennessee team in weeks. There is no better motivation than to have someone look you in the eyes and say, "You know what, you can't beat this team." I guarantee you Phillip Fulmer has used it as motivation for his team.
