Bowl back in Boise Big West affiliates with C-USA for Humanitarian BowlPosted: Thursday July 30, 1998 10:56 PM
BOISE, Idaho (AP) -- The December 30 Humanitarian Bowl will pit the winner of the Big West Conference against a runner-up in Conference USA. Officials of the bowl at Boise State University's Bronco Stadium said on Thursday during the Big West annual football meeting that the deal covers the 1998 and 1999 seasons. Last year's inaugural Humanitarian Bowl matched Big West champion Utah State against at-large selection Cincinnati of Conference USA. Officials said Cincinnati's experience played a key roll in the decision to formalize an alliance. The opponent of the Big West champion in the next two bowls will be by mutual agreement of officials from the bowl and both conferences. The Conference USA champion is committed to the Liberty Bowl.
