SAN DIEGO (Ticker) -- Kansas State fans now can refer to "The Drive" when talking about the best moments of the school's greatest decade.
Jonathan Beasley directed a 20-play, 92-yard drive and scored on a one-yard run with six minutes left in the fourth quarter as the seventh-ranked Wildcats defeated Washington, 24-20, in the Holiday Bowl.
Once considered among the worst programs in the nation, Kansas State (11-1) completed its third straight 11-win season. The Wildcats were 70-14-1 during the final seven years of the decade, including five bowl victories.
Beasley ran for three touchdowns as Kansas State defeated Washington for the first time in five all-time meetings. The Huskies (7-5) captured the first four games by a combined margin of 150-13.
Washington, which completed its first season under coach Rick Neuheisel, has lost three straight bowl games for the second time in the 1990s. Only a victory over Michigan State in the 1997 Aloha Bowl separated the two skids.
