CORVALLIS, Oregon (Ticker) -- Steven Jackson rushed for a career-high 239 yards and three touchdowns as Oregon State finally earned its first Pac-10 Conference victory, 24-13 over California.
Jackson's second touchdown, a four-yard run with 4:49 to go in the second quarter, put the Beavers ahead for good, 14-10. He added another four-yard TD with 16 seconds left in the half, and the Bears' Mark Jensen and the Beavers' Kirk Yliniemi kicked one field goal apiece in the second half to complete the scoring.
Though it had the ball for more than six minutes less than California, Oregon State (5-3, 1-3 Pac-10) outgained the Bears on the ground, 301-16, en route to snapping a three-game losing streak.
Kyle Boller completed 27-of-51 attempts for 284 yards and one interception for California (5-4, 2-3), which lost for the fourth time in six games after beginning the season 3-0.
Derek Anderson completed just 8-of-24 passes for 80 yards for the Beavers, who have won four straight meetings with the Bears.
