Saints OT Willie Roaf out two weeks with knee injury

METAIRIE, Louisiana (Ticker) -- New Orleans Saints tackle
Willie Roaf, a four-time Pro Bowl starter who has started every game he's
played since being drafted in 1993, will miss at least two weeks after
undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his left knee.
Saints spokesman Greg Bensel said Roaf had successful arthroscopic
surgery Tuesday. He added that Roaf is back at the Saints' training
facility today to determine "range of motion" and will begin working out on
the stationary bike. He will be sidelined at least 10-14 days but likely
out three weeks.
Roaf was the eighth overall pick in 1993 from Louisiana Tech and
immediately stepped into the starting lineup. He has started all 84 games
he has played, missing three in 1996 with a partial tear of his MCL. The
6-6, 300-pound Roaf played right tackle his rookie season but moved to left
tackle prior to the 1994 campaign.

Hills is expected to start in place of Roaf. A sixth-round draft pick
in 1996, the 6-6, 305-pound Hills has appeared in only 10 games in his
first two seasons. New Orleans is 13th in the NFC in rushing at 88.1 yards
per game and has allowed 28 quarterback sacks in seven games.
