Australian swimming star Ian Thorpe won two gold medals Saturday and appeared to be on track to win three more. The Australian men's 4x100 relay team, anchored by Thorpe, set a world record as the Americans lost the event for the first time in history. Four other world records were set on the first day of competition, including Thorpe's record in the 400-meter freestyle. SI's Brian Cazeneuve tries to explain just how big of a star the 17-year-old is in Australia.
