WIMBLEDON, England (AP) -- Anna Kournikova is in danger of missing Wimbledon with a thumb injury that may be more serious than first thought. The 17-year-old Russian, who injured her right thumb in a fall during a quarterfinal win Thursday over Steffi Graf in the Eastbourne grass-court tournament, was reported to be seeing a specialist Sunday in England. Kournikova withdrew from the Eastbourne tournament Friday as a precaution. Kournikova reached the semifinals of Wimbledon last year and is seeded 12th this time. She is among the outside favorites along with other top teen-age players like Venus and Serena Williams. Defending champion Martina Hingis -- also 17 -- is seeded No. 1 in the annual grass-court classic, which begins Monday.
