Jeyaseelan is currently ranked No. 145 in the world and made it into the Australian Open draw as a qualifier. Her second round upset of the fifth seed Nathalie Tauziat sets up a meeting with another qualifier, Germany's Jana Kandarr. If she wins there, she would have a possible fourth round match against ninth seed Julie Halard-Decugis.
Career highlights
In 1999, Jeyaseelan pulled off a straight sets win over Venus Williams in the second round of the Baush & Lomb Championships. In 1998, she reached her first career final at the Copa Colsanitas in Bogota, Colombia.
Personal
In her spare time, Jeyaseelan enjoys listening to music, shopping and surfing the web. She also follows the Vancouver Canucks and Toronto Maple Leafs of the NHL.
