Date with destiny
When Roger Federer eliminated Pete Sampras from Wimbledon two years ago, it was indeed a sign of things to come. Losing only one set in the fortnight, Federer scored a 7-6 (5), 6-2, 7-6 (3) victory over Australian Mark Philippoussis in Sunday's final to win his first Grand Slam title.
