Cardinals running back Adrian Murrell joined CNNSI.com users for a special pre-Super Bowl chat on Friday, Jan. 28. A transcript of the chat follows.
CNNSI.com host: Welcome to our Super Bowl chat with Arizona Cardinals running back Adrian Murrell. Thanks for joining us today, Adrian.
Adrian Murrell: Thanks for having me.
From Guest: What has been the mood in Atlanta this week?
Adrian Murrell: I think the mood is pretty good. Guys are a little cold out here. They weren't predicting this kind of weather, but hey...
CNNSI.com host: Have you been participating in a lot of the Super Bowl-related activities?
Adrian Murrell: It's a good thing it's in a dome. I did a few things... first thing was the Payless thing for babies. Was an excellent thing. My baby was a little too old to participate in the ra
ce.
From Guest: What kind of game do you think we can expect in this year's Super Bowl?
Adrian Murrell: I think it's going to be a really smashmouth game. The Rams will be explosive, and Eddie George is going to be running it out. McNair's been great, and I think it's going to be a great Super Bowl to watch.
From Guest: Do you think that this has been one of the strangest seasons in NFL history?
Adrian Murrell: I don't know... I can definitely say this. The game is never over until the whistle blows for the final time. There have been some games that went down to the wire. Look at the way the Titans won and now they're in the Super Bowl.
From Guest: Simeon Rice was recently named to the NFL Pro Bowl team -- what's it like playing with him?
Adrian Murrell: Simeon is a good player. A very good player. He never stops, he has a real passion for the game. It's great to see that he was able to get to the pro bowl -- he had an awesome year. So it's great to see him go.
From Guest: What do you think about Rice's comments about Phoenix being 'the armpit of the NFL' and the Cardinals 'not being any good'?
Adrian Murrell: I'm a free agent this year and I don't expect to be back there. I don't know if it's going to cause turmoil among the team. Guys are going to wonder why he made those comments. I wouldn't have said those comments, but he's a guy who shoots straight from the heart.
From Guest: What kind of game do you think we'll see this weekend?
Adrian Murrell: If the Titans can get out there and impose their defense, it could be a long day for the Rams and vice-verse.
From Guest: Who's your favorite player from each of the two teams in the Super Bowl?
Adrian Murrell: Lorenzo Neal is definitely my favorite player. We had the opportunity to play together for one year. I think he'll have a great game. For the other team, you've got to give Kurt Warner the nod. What a triumph, what a year.
CNNSI.com host: Last two questions...
From Guest: Do you think that the Super Bowl is diminished because of the parity in the leagues?
Adrian Murrell: No, I don't think that at all. That's what they envisioned it coming to with free agency -- some will be dominant and others aren't. I like the way the league is going right now.
From Guest: Who is your pick in the Super Bowl and why?
Adrian Murrell: I like the Titans. I think they definitely have a physical defense and their road to the Super Bowl is definitely battle tested and I wish those guys can go out and win it.
CNNSI.com host: Thanks for joining us today, Adrian. Good luck next season.
Adrian Murrell: Thanks. Enjoyed it.
