Tennessee and Arizona State played their game outdoors at Bank One Ballpark in Phoenix in December. AP

Tennessee and Arizona State decided to move their game to the friendly confines of Bank One Ballpark. We asked CNNSI.com user what they think of basketball games being played outdoors. A sample of the responses follows:

Yes, if for no other reason, to attract more first-time fans to women's basketball. The novelty of holding a game outdoors is in itself a draw. Especially, if you've got a big name team playing. Then the match becomes more of a David vs. Goliath contest. Nobody expected the Sun Devils to come within four points of an upset.
Maria, Lakewood, Calif.

No! Weather is unpredictable. This is not an arena for basketball. I personally would not attend an outdoor game.
Carol Haynsworth, Athens, Ga.

I think more games should be played outdoors on playgrounds in warm weather places in order to save money. Not much of a case, but my thoughts nonetheless. I don't mind arenas though, they can get really loud if the fans care about helping their team win.
Bob Millikan, Indianapolis

I think it would be cool to play outside as long as the weather has no affect on the game. It is hard to play basketball when it is raining.
Abby, Oregon, Wis.

Only if the temperature is above 60 degrees. Risking injury by forcing players to play in near-freezing weather is obscene.
B. Getchel, Oxford, Conn.

I think more college basketball games should be played outdoors. Especially, for UCONN games. It is impossible to get tickets for a UCONN game. We need stadiums to fit all of our fans!
Bryan, Enfield, Conn.

Basketball should ABSOLUTELY never be played outdoors. The variables involved could well affect one team differently than another. So much so that the better team might not win, but would have won if the game were played indoors. Two things, wind gusts, and background difficulty are my reasons why not to play outdoors. Both of those could affect one team more than another, takes away having the better team win.
Nick Fotos, Cleveland

No, this is just a gimmick. What's next? On a snow court wearing snowshoes!
Syl Stempel, Waterbury Center, Vt.

Playing basketball outside makes about as much sense as playing baseball and football inside. Just how "intelligent" are we?
Andy Kalinowski, Columbus, Miss.
